About Milo
I’m a violin tutor with over 5 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance, specialising in Contemporary Repertoire. My classical training gives me a strong foundation, which I use to help students explore modern expression on the violin. I focus on preparing students for orchestral excerpts and ensemble playing, guiding them through the challenges of group performance. My lessons emphasise essential skills like bowing technique, vibrato development, phrasing, and interpretation. I enjoy working across styles, including Classical, Contemporary, and Cinematic music, helping students bring their own voice to each piece. I have experience coaching students for ABRSM and Trinity exams, ensuring they meet the highest standards. Additionally, I provide orchestral coaching to prepare players for real-world ensemble settings. I believe in blending tradition with creativity, encouraging students to honour classical roots while discovering fresh ways to express themselves. My violin lessons are warm, interactive, and focused on clear goals. I specialise in helping students prepare for orchestral playing, sectional rehearsals, and auditions for youth or community orchestras. I’m especially skilled at guiding students who come from diverse musical backgrounds, including vocalists stepping into orchestral roles.
