About Danny

I began my web development career, as a Junior Developer, in March 2000 when the dot-com bubble was still in full swing. Twelve months later, I took a job at Freeserve, then the largest online portal in the UK. I have since worked for a number of clients in both agency and corporate environments, building websites and web applications for companies such as the BBC, The Guardian, Sky, Channel 4, Orange, and Vodafone, and via agencies for the Home Office and the MOD, amongst others. During that time, I have also been involved in recruitment and, most importantly, in mentoring junior developers. Being completely self-taught, I decided to take a BSc in Computer Science in 2019, alongside my full-time job. I graduated with a First Class Honours degree in March 2023.

About the lesson

I am very passionate about the web platform and developing for the web, so my lessons are fun, interactive and goal driven. Web development is a wonderful profession or hobby, and I'd be excited to teach you it. I can teach: - HTML - CSS (and SASS) - JavaScript - TypeScript - React - P5.js - Build tools (Gulp, Webpack, et al) - UX and UI design - Databases - and more (just ask)

Perfect! Danny is a great and patient tutor. I wanted someone who would be able to explore key problem areas (nodeJS/APIs) to dig down, explain from a different perspective and show me how to research and debug issues. 10/10 for patience, approach, preparedness, communication and clarity.

I couldn't rate Danny enough and hope he'll keep a bit of time available for me so I can continue to learn with him and take advantage of his deep knowledge and pleasant teaching manner.
