About Deborah
Hello! I’m a rising college junior and adolescent education major with a concentration in English. I knew I wanted to teach early on in middle school and started working with elementary schoolers in eighth grade. In high school the opportunity was presented to assist with my school's program for special education and I fell in love. It is a rewarding experience to work with children with disabilities and I’m so grateful for it. In college at a SUNY university I have learned so much and am so grateful for these experiences too. I am the vice president of Aspiring Educators and am a member of the poetry club. I really enjoy writing, especially poetry, have a published poem and am working on more. I’ve taken many creative writing and Literature courses for my degree and while I adore them I know how challenging these subjects can be for everyone, especially for those whose brains are wired differently. I’m looking forward to working with your children!

Hello! The philosophy behind my lessons is the same: a style that encourages and nurtures each student while teaching them proper English techniques and guides them towards finding meaning in literature as well as helping to prepare for tests and other opportunities in life. My lessons are inclusive, and I have special experience in special education and adapting lessons. I have experience with most ages. Some lessons I've given include revising for admissions, SAT English, PSAT English, proofreading essays, creative writing, adaptive English lessons and more.
