About J'enna
A warm welcome, A bit about me – I’m a BSL level 6 signer and a Specialist Support Professional Tutor who motivates, coaches, mentors and encourages deaf and hard of hearing students, so that they too can access and enjoy their learning experience. I have worked within the deaf community for over 10 years in a variety of sectors, including education, corporate retail and much more! Teaching experience includes BSL to hearing students and English to deaf students (including adults) and have received great and humbling feedback. My qualifications include; BA Hons Deaf Studies and Linguistics, British Sign Language (BSL) Level 6, PTLLS, TEFL. I am in midst of completing a Diploma in Teaching and Education and about to embark on a BSL/English interpreting course. I use a student-focused approach, ensuring sessions are interactive and engaging. The first session is used to assess how a student works and where they are at currently and to discuss their goals. Taking this into consideration helps to build a good foundation, helping the student to progress and achieve their goals.
