About Samin

Hi, my name is Samin.
I just graduated from Strathfield Girls High School and I'm currently waiting to start university.

Throughout high school, I always enjoyed subjects like English, Science and IT and wanted to help others find the same passion as I did in studying them. In Year 12 I studied Advanced English, Advanced Maths, Biology, Economics and Information Processing and Technology.

I want to help students with subjects like English, Science and Maths in order for them to find their 'sweet spot' and excel in their studies. I know some subjects are difficult but with some help and guidance, it will be more enjoyable and easier to get good marks.

I have the skills/knowledge, patience and passion to help others achieve their best and to not only be their tutor but an optimistic mentor throughout schooling too. I am determined to help others achieve their best through being supportive and teaching content to the best of my ability.

Throughout high school, some of my academic achievements include;
-Top 3 in the cohort for Maths Yr 9
- Top 10 in the cohort for Maths Yr 10
- Receiving 90+ in Adv English last semester Yr 12
Besides academics, I have also been involved with a lot of extracurricular activities such as being a Peer Support Leader, SRC Rep and representing my school in sports such as Badminton and Netball.

About the lesson

I know learning concepts/content in subjects such as Maths and English isn't easy, so I'm going to incorporate a way where learning is easy and stress-free.
I plan on spending the beginning of the lesson asking what to focus on the most, then teach content through various resources such as textbooks. I also incorporate doing exam questions in timed conditions near the end of the lesson to make sure the content learnt is thoroughly understood. This includes doing past hsc/exam questions and quizzes.

Typical lessons can be up to 2 hours in which content will be taught and doing practice questions.

I recently graduated from high school and have peer tutored students from Yr7-11 in the school library and even some family members.

I can tutor students from Years 6-11 in English (Adv), Maths(Yr6-10), Science and HSIE.
