About Shadan
I believe in creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and exploring their musical abilities. My teaching approach is student-centered, focusing on tailoring lessons to each student's unique strengths, interests, and goals. Many of my students have achieved remarkable results in auditions and different exams such as receiving the First Class Honors with Distinction in RCM exams. By attending different workshops, I try to improve my knowledge and stay up to date. The last workshop I attended was performed by Calgary Opera Community Ambassadors on the subject of Vocal health and injury prevention. Also, I attended the Vocal Pedagogy course at the University of Alberta, which gave me a better understanding of vocal techniques, and methods of vocal training in classical singing, including the physicality of the instrument.

My aim is to establish a strong technical foundation for students, focusing on proper breath control, posture, vocal range, pitch accuracy, and resonance.
Besides the technical aspects, I help my students develop stage presence, interpretive skills, and emotional connection to the music.
Also, I prepare my students for auditions, competitions, exams like RCM, and performances by offering guidance on song selection, preparation techniques, stage etiquette and managing performance anxiety.
The repertoire I build for my students suits their unique voice types and style preferences, and I help them to improve their song interpretation, phrasing, and diction.
Furthermore, I offer Music Theory and Aural skills lessons for all ages and all levels from beginner to advanced. My goal is to work on fundamentals, sight-reading the rhythms, and melodies, and identifying intervals, chords, and scales.
