About Leezy

I transitioned from a career in interior design to becoming a ceramic designer after discovering the limitless creativity that clay offers. Its versatility allows for endless exploration, and since then, ceramics has become my primary creative medium. In my lessons, you will progressively learn: - Hand-building techniques – the foundation of creating forms with clay. - Transforming 2D sketches into 3D clay models – bringing ideas to life. - Underglazing techniques – adding colors and personal touches to your work. - The history of clay and its connection to human civilization – gaining a deeper appreciation for this ancient craft at every stage. With a structured yet explorative approach, I ensure that each student gains technical skills and creative confidence in working with clay. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your craft, I’m here to guide you through the process in an engaging and inspiring way!

About the lesson

Techniques & Teaching Methodology
As a professionally trained interior designer, I have worked with various materials to transform ideas into 3D forms. Clay, being one of the most sustainable and versatile materials, allows endless possibilities in creative expression. In my lessons, I focus on fundamental hand-building techniques using bare minimum tools and found objects, making ceramics an accessible craft for everyone. Students will explore pinching, coiling, and slab-building while developing a deeper understanding of form, texture, and structure.

Typical Lesson Length
Each session at least 2 hours, allowing students ample time to engage with the clay, experiment with techniques, and refine their creations.

Qualifications & Experience
With a Bachelor's of interior design and extensive experience in material exploration, I have developed a hands-on and intuitive approach to ceramics. I have hosted various ceramic workshops and events, sharing the joy of working with clay with participants of all ages.

Who Are These Lessons For?
My classes are for all ages and skill levels—whether for a tactile experience, relaxation, or achieving a creative idea.

Ages 5-16: I provide mobile lessons and travel to students’ place within KL and Selangor (with an additional RM15 travel fee).
Ages 17 and above: Classes are held in a studio in Cheras for a more immersive hands-on experience.
No prior experience is needed—just an open mind and a willingness to explore!

Details

Each lesson is a minimum of 2 hours.
Including materials, tools, and firing.
It will take 3-4 weeks to air-dry, bisque firing, glazing, and glaze firing. Postage is included and will be delivered to you once it is fired.
