About Brigette

With over 12 years of teaching experience and a degree in Psychology, I’ve built a career grounded in patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed. My journey in education began in a self-contained special education classroom, where I worked as an aide before becoming a dedicated 1:1 support for a student in a general education setting. From there, I began tutoring elementary students, which sparked my desire to pursue my teaching certification and expand my impact. Over the years, I’ve supported students across a wide range of subjects and abilities—from co-teaching biology, algebra, and English to leading reading intervention programs rooted in Orton-Gillingham and Rewards, with a focus on phonics and multisyllabic decoding. I currently teach both 9th and 11th grade English, as well as an after-school curriculum support class designed for students working to recover from D’s and F’s. My dual certification allows me to effectively tailor instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners while maintaining rigorous academic expectations. As a coach and a mom of six (three of my own and three amazing stepkids), I understand how hectic life can get. That’s why I’m committed to providing flexible, high-quality academic support that fits into real-life schedules. My approach is energetic yet grounded, blending research-based strategies with the understanding that every student learns differently—and every student is capable of success with the right support.

About the lesson

With a degree in Psychology and over 12 years of teaching experience, I bring a deep understanding of how students learn best. I’m a dual-certified high school English teacher and coach who uses energetic, engaging strategies tailored to each learner’s needs. My background in reading intervention has helped countless students improve comprehension, confidence, and academic success.

As a mom of three and a stepmom to three more, I’ve learned the power of patience, persistence, and positive reinforcement. Whether your student needs support with reading, writing, organization, or test prep, I create a safe and encouraging space to help them grow and thrive.
