About Makeda
I am an English teacher from Birmingham with 8 years' experience teaching SEN and EBD students. I have worked in challenging settings where students have been removed from mainstream education and other education providers have often given up on them. It has been a great pleasure of mine to turn a negative past educational experience and allow the students to believe in themselves again. English is a subject we all need. It is the foundation. It is how we express ourselves. I have had the great opportunity to ignite and promote a love for English in what some may say is an unconventional way.

My lessons are fun, engaging and inclusive for all learners. I have high expectations for all students and ensure that every child makes progress. Lessons and tasks are differentiated, promoting and therefore empowering students to feel a sense of achievement and success, boost self-confidence and become confident learners overall, who will be able to transfer skills built upon here into the classroom and their school work. My aim is to help bridge the gaps in students' learning and help to shape a whole rounded individual who can communicate effectively through reading, writing and spoken language. My close attention to detail and individualised learning plans will equip students to gain higher grades.
