About Nina

I love teaching and seeing my students grow in confidence and ability.

I have a first class degree in English and French from Warwick University, as well as a Masters degree in Teaching Studies. I have extensive school leadership experience as a Deputy Head, Assistant Head and prior Head of English. I have experience of teaching in both secondary and primary schools in the UK and France, as well as providing homeschooling and EOTAS tuition.

About the lesson

I am a fully qualified secondary English teacher and experienced Deputy Headteacher with 13 years’ experience of teaching and leading in Outstanding schools.

My areas of teaching expertise are English Literature and English Language at GCSE and A Level Literature. I work with students of all abilities and am experienced in supporting students with a wide range of SEND needs.

I create a friendly and supportive learning environment where children receive personalised tuition and feel positive and able to succeed. Lessons are 1-2 hours, and are structured in a way that means students make progress throughout and reflect on what they have learnt. If students are struggling with particular areas of the English curriculum at school I will focus on improving their skills in these areas.

Students may be set additional research, reading comprehension or written tasks as homework to complete between our sessions, which I will mark and give feedback on during our next lesson.
