About Fiona
With over 5 years of teaching experience and an MSc in Applied Mathematics, I specialize in making complex mathematical ideas accessible and engaging. I integrate concepts from chaos theory and fractal geometry into practice, helping students understand complex systems and natural phenomena. My teaching emphasizes iterated functions, self-similarity, and strange attractors, bringing abstract ideas to life through visual examples and interactive simulations. I enjoy working with curious learners who are eager to explore mathematics beyond the classroom. My teaching approach is designed to help students master mathematics with confidence and clarity. I focus on both understanding concepts and applying them effectively. We cover a wide range of topics, including calculus, pre-calculus, algebra, geometry, and statistics, tailored for school, university, and competitive exams like SAT, GRE, and GMAT.
I emphasize efficient problem-solving under time pressure. Students learn strategies to tackle questions quickly without losing accuracy. Common pitfalls and tricky problem types are highlighted, ensuring they are well-prepared for any challenge. Targeted drills and practice tests form the core of my methodology. These exercises are carefully chosen to strengthen weak areas and reinforce key concepts.
I also focus on exam strategy, teaching students how to prioritize questions, manage time, and approach difficult problems calmly. Each session is interactive, encouraging questions and active problem-solving. Students gain a deep understanding of mathematical logic and reasoning.
