About Sophia
I have recently completed my Bachelor of Science at the University of Auckland where I majored in Environmental Science and Physics and have just started working towards my Master's Degree. Before moving to NZ, I took 6 GCSEs (UK secondary school qualification) a year early which was a great challenge and for the rest of my schooling in NZ I completed the IB Diploma. Throughout my studies, I have tutored several students ranging from primary school all the way up to year 13. I have taught high achievers who want to be pushed, students who need a little help catching up, and special needs students. Most importantly, I have experienced being a struggling student myself and understand the challenges my students face. I will always work hard to be patient and find ways of teaching which best suit the individual's needs.

As a student, I am able to recognize that people learn differently and that sometimes it just takes a different approach to understand a concept which you may have been struggling with. As well as having experience in my own studies, I have tutored multiple ages and abilities in math, physics, and English over the years. This allows me to be flexible in my teaching and find the best way to communicate with each individual pupil and their needs. I tutor all ages from primary to high school. My subjects include math, physics, English, and geography. The length of my typical session is 1 hour, but may vary according to the student's needs and the topics covered.
