About Isabela

I was born in Brazil, lived around the world, and am now based in London. I have been practising Yoga for over 10 years. Today I'm a Hatha Vinyasa Ashtanga Yoga Teacher accredited by Yoga Alliance (700+ hr). My dream is to share Yoga with as many people as I can. Yoga appeared in my life as a transformation. It helped with my anxiety, and stress, improved my sleep, gained flexibility and strength. When I realised I was already in love! This passion made me want to learn even more so I went to India where I stayed for over a year in total. I graduated as a Hatha, Vinyasa and Ashtanga teacher, and specialised in meditation, Breathwork, philosophy, Tantra, Sound healing, and Reiki. My goal is to make each person discover within themselves the tools to take care of their body and mind.

I am an Advanced 700hr Yoga teacher certified in India where I studied Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga, Meditation, and Breathwork. My classes are tailored to each student's experience and goals, be it relaxation, self-confidence, strength, or flexibility. The 60-minute classes can include a short meditation and pranayama practice followed by asana practice (postures and sequences). I'm passionate about introducing Yoga to beginners and helping them build a solid foundation for their practice, working on their body awareness, alignment, understanding of postures and sequences, mobility, and general well-being. If you are searching for a yoga teacher to bring the benefits of yoga to your CORPORATE environment I offer a unique and adaptable approach to help companies in London enhance the well-being and productivity of their employees. I am passionate about creating a calm and focused atmosphere within workplaces, and I understand the specific needs of professionals working in high-pressure environments. By introducing yoga techniques, breathing exercises, and mindfulness practices, I can help your team find balance, reduce stress, and cultivate mental and physical resilience. I offer private 1-1 lessons and small group lessons online and in person. I also work with companies teaching regular classes and events. Please contact me for more details.

  • What age did you start practicing Yoga? Tell us about this time or moment in your life.

I started practicing Yoga at the age of 21. At the time I was experiencing anxiety and was trying different things that could help me. I first started practicing meditation which helped right away and then made my way through asanas and breathwork, I started to understand Yoga and its different components and fell in love with it.
  • What are your favorite activities; those that you practice at a high level, a simple hobby, and an activity that you'd still like to discover?

Yoga is my self-practice and my work. Meditation, Vinyasa, and Ashtanga are all parts of my daily routine. I also enjoy running and working out. I also surf regularly and go on hikes as often as I can.
  • What gives you the motivation and passion to practice Yoga?

Developing body-mind awareness changed my understanding of myself and the world around me. And every time I teach, I see people experiencing that. I enjoy seeing my body evolving in strength, flexibility, and balance. And also, of course, Yoga can be very fun!
  • Do you have an achievement that you're particularly proud of?

I think my biggest achievement is showing up on the mat every day for my personal practice so I can practice what I teach. Another big achievement/dream of mine was to study Yoga and become a teacher and I had the opportunity of completing both teacher training RYT-200 and RYT-500 from the International Yoga Alliance in India.
  • How have your achievements and challenges made you a better person?

There is a famous quote by B.K.S Iyengar that says "Yoga is a light, which once lit will never dim. The better your practice, the brighter your flame." Becoming a Yoga teacher allows me to pass that flame along, helping people to be present, to know themselves, and to shine their light brighter wherever they go.
  • If you had to go for a jog with a famous athlete, who would you choose? And what questions would you ask them?

There are several yogis I admire for different reasons, but mainly because in some way they were/are with me on my path, either physically or through their teachings, helping and guiding me along the way. Some of them are Sonu Kumar, Sanjeev Ji, Dany Sá, and of course Paramahansa Yogananda, B.K.S Iyengar, Gandhi and many others.
  • How do you help people stay motivated?

The challenges that arise in Yoga practice are highly motivating. Wanting to reach a pose that he or she still cannot do, wanting to seat quietly in meditation, improve strength, and calm their minds, are all goals that everyone can reach, and watching those things unfold is highly motivating. That's why it's important to keep your goals in mind along the way, but at the same time without getting too attached to them. While the postures represent short-term goals, the most important thing is the student's own path, his own walk. That's his Sadhana (which means spiritual discipline and practice).
  • What makes you a Superprof?

I love teaching. I spent over one year in India learning Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Meditation, Pranayama, and Yoga Therapy. I also studied Yoga for kids and Pre-natal Yoga. I have over 300 hours of anatomy courses, history, and philosophy. While in India, I also spent time studying the sacred texts of Yoga such as the Bhagavad-Gita and the Yoga Sutras. In my classes, I love connecting all those aspects and practices to offer a special Yoga session.
