About Ivy
Hi! I’m a passionate piano tutor with over 14 years of experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Piano Emphasis. I’ve had the joy of working with students of all ages and skill levels—from complete beginners to advanced and professional pianists. My teaching covers a wide range of piano types, including Grand, Upright, Digital, Classical, Player, Electric Keyboard, and Acoustic pianos. Whether you're exploring classical compositions, modern pop, or improvisational jazz, I provide the tools and support to help you grow confidently. I specialize in chord theory, ear training, sight reading, improvisation, and expressive technique. Lessons are always student-centered—designed to fit your learning pace, goals, and musical interests. I work with school students preparing for exams, as well as adult learners looking to reignite or start their musical passion. My aim is to make music both meaningful and enjoyable. I use a flexible and encouraging approach that adapts to each student’s unique journey. Whether you're aiming to perform, compose, or simply play for joy, I’m here to help every step of the way. With over 14 years of piano experience, I offer dynamic lessons that blend classical foundations with pop, jazz, and contemporary styles. My approach is flexible and student-focused, designed to inspire creativity while building solid technique.
Whether you're just starting out or refining your performance skills, I tailor each session to match your pace and musical goals. You'll learn to read music, understand theory, and play expressively—across a range of genres.
I incorporate tech tools like ear training apps, metronomes, and digital audio workstations (DAWs) to sharpen timing, pitch, and musical creativity. These tools make practice more engaging and help you track progress in a modern, effective way.
I support students who play in churches or produce digital music by helping them master chords, improvisation, and performance flow. From worship settings to studio sessions, I guide learners in applying real-world skills with confidence.
