About Lauren
Hi, I'm Lauren DeSimone! I am a grade 7 and 8 English Language Arts teacher in Rhode Island. My passion for teaching started when I received my first chalkboard at 9 years old. I haven't looked back since.
I always knew I wanted to become an educator, and never really considered doing anything else. I trusted myself, chased after my dream and have been living that childhood dream for over 15 years.

My method(s) vary depending on the level, the age, the setting and background, the content to be taught and will always be refined if I find my current way is not working well or learning is not happening.
My top methods and techniques include:
1. I get to know my students by developing a rapport and trust of the teaching/learning process.
2. I respond to student feedback or suggestions on how they learn best and develop lessons from there.
3. Teaching vocabulary in every lesson. The reason for this is learning and taking words apart covers every aspect of English education.
4. Personalized learning for individual students as everyone has different learning styles.
5. Promoting a growth mindset with ALL of my students. They need to know their worth and what THEY have to offer to each session.
