About Wendy
I am a 53 year old English teacher who has been teaching for 15 years. I have had many roles in that time including Head of English. I have always tutored alongside my full time teaching job; I really enjoy seeing the progress students make working one to one. I am also a Team Leader for AQA on English Language paper 1, which really helps me to understand the best approaches to questions.

When preparing students for GCSE exams or re-sits, I make it a priority to instil confidence. I have tried and tested approaches to answering questions which I practise with students and provide models and constructive feedback. I have been tutoring and teaching for 15 years and my students reach their potential in their exams. I also enjoy tutoring Key Stage 3 students - on many occasions I have started teaching students in Yr 8 and taken them through to GCSEs. I focus on areas of need, such as comprehension and writing skills.

Wendy is an experienced teacher of English language and literature who is incredibly skilled in getting the best out of her students. She is understanding, empathetic and nurturing but thanks to her work marking for AQA, she also has a superb knowledge of what GCSE English exams demand of students.
