About Sal
I’m a dedicated Maths tutor with a First Class degree in Mathematics and a PGCE in Secondary Education. I’ve supported students both in schools and one-to-one, and I always adapt my teaching to suit each student’s goals, confidence, and learning style. Whether you're aiming for a top grade or working towards a pass, I’m here to help make maths feel more manageable — and maybe even enjoyable. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy sports, games, and writing. I'm someone who likes to explore and experience life from many angles. My aim with every student is not just academic improvement, but to help them grow in confidence and fulfilment. Maths is simply one of the avenues we use to get there.

I am experienced in both one-to-one support and classroom teaching, which gives me a strong understanding of the common gaps and misconceptions students develop during their learning journey. My approach is to identify these gaps early and test the student’s understanding through targeted questioning and practice. Using my knowledge of the curriculum and assessment objectives, I help students build confidence and develop a deeper understanding of key mathematical concepts. I’m familiar with both mastery-based and procedural teaching methods, and I adapt my approach to suit each individual student’s learning style and goals. Lessons are 60 minutes long and are available for all KS3 and KS4 students.
