About David

For 8 years now, I’ve been teaching piano to high school and college students. I’ve taught between 150 and 200 students, and I treat each one as a partner on a music journey. My teaching is focused on support, fun, and steady progress. Whether a student wants to play pop music, classical songs, or just explore piano as a hobby, I guide them at their pace. One of my best memories as a tutor was organizing a small student concert—seeing my students perform in front of friends and family was so rewarding. I believe learning music is more than just notes—it’s about growth, joy, and expression. I’m proud to be part of that process.

About the lesson

My piano teaching philosophy is built on communication, accountability, and integrity. I believe these values create the best environment for learning and growth. I use clear communication to explain music concepts and piano techniques simply and patiently. I encourage students to ask questions and discuss any challenges they face. This helps me tailor lessons to each student’s needs. Accountability helps students stay focused and committed. We set clear goals and practice plans, and I monitor progress closely.

Honest feedback keeps students motivated and helps them improve. Integrity means honesty and respect. I provide constructive criticism in a positive way and support each student’s unique learning journey. Along with piano skills, I teach music theory, rhythm, and sight-reading to give students a strong foundation. This helps students not only play piano but also understand music fully. By combining communication, accountability, and integrity, I create a supportive learning space where students can succeed and enjoy piano.
