About Fred
I have been in Educational Leadership for the last 12 years. As Principal and Director of Curriculum and Instruction, I have trained teachers in lesson differentiation strategies, administering Common Core Instruction and teaching the "whole" student, building on the student's strengths and improving their areas of need.
Through my work with the State Trustee of Education, I have worked to reform and transform schools. Within my leadership schools and districts have often doubled growth. I understand the needs of ALL students, regardless of their ability level and am excellent at pinpointing their needs and working on them.
I have tutored students as young as 5 and students taking graduate level exams (GRE, California Teaching Credential, etc.)

I have tutored students as young as 5 and students taking graduate level exams (GRE, California Teaching Credential, etc.). I am excellent at tutoring in ALL academic areas,
English Language Arts, Writing, Math, History, Science, etc.
My first steps are to get to know the student, their likes, dislikes and interview parents or (for adult learners) discuss challenges they may face. From this, I am able to provide a cumulative math and reading assessment. I like to observe the student taking the assessment and initiate a conversation about their thought process so I can learn about the modality they learn the best (visual, auditory, tactical, etc.).
We create a 6-week plan with goals and revisit our goals to gauge growth every week. Courage is the cornerstone of growth. A student needs to feel comfortable making mistakes, to build self-confidence, I work on several levels of student self-awareness to build belief. My yield of success with this has been amazing.

Basic Math and ELA (grade level) pre-assessments and post-assessments will be provided by me FREE of charge.
For special projects (science fair, etc), I will purchase items needed for a $15-$30 surcharge.
