About Freya
I’m a singing tutor with over 6 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theater Voice. I deliver personalized lessons to students of all levels—school, college, and adult learners—helping each individual reach their full potential. My lessons cover a variety of styles, including classical, pop, movie, and folk singing. I focus on ear training, harmony, improvisation, and music theory, ensuring that every student gains both technical skill and musical understanding. Building vocal confidence is central to my teaching. I emphasize safe vocal techniques to protect the voice while encouraging freedom of expression. Every lesson is interactive, engaging, and tailored to each student’s goals. I believe in nurturing individual voices and helping students discover their unique sound. My teaching methodology is designed to help singers discover their unique vocal identity while nurturing creativity. For adult beginners, I focus on building confidence, shaping vocal tone, and exploring foundational techniques in a supportive way. Advanced teens work on refining tone, expanding range, and deepening expressive skills to bring their performances to life.
Song interpretation and storytelling are central to all lessons. We analyze lyrics, explore emotional nuances, and connect personally with each piece. Genre exploration allows students to experiment with different styles, from pop and jazz to musical theatre and blues, encouraging versatility and artistic growth. Improvisation exercises help singers develop spontaneity and personal expression.
I use tools like lyric analysis sheets, vocal journals, DAWs, and melody trainers to track progress and enhance learning. Adult beginners benefit from structured exercises and reflective practices, while advanced teens are challenged with complex phrasing, harmonies, and creative arrangements.
Lessons balance technical skill with artistic freedom, fostering both discipline and inspiration. I guide each student in developing a signature sound that reflects their personality and emotional depth. Ultimately, the goal is to cultivate confident, expressive singers who enjoy the process of creating and performing music.
