About Rhett

I have over ten years of experience as a singing tutor and hold a Bachelor of Music Education with a focus on voice. Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with choirs, vocal ensembles, and group harmony training. I specialize in styles such as Classical, Sacred, A Cappella, and Barbershop, helping singers develop strong technique and musicality. My teaching emphasizes sight singing, solfège, choral blend, and part-singing to create beautiful, cohesive group performances. I also have experience leading rehearsals, guiding singers to work together effectively and confidently. I have successfully coached school choirs, college ensembles, and community singing groups, seeing many students grow both individually and as part of a team. I believe that singing together is a joyful experience that strengthens not only the voice but also the connection between singers. My lessons are supportive and encouraging, designed to help each singer improve their vocal skills while enjoying the power of group harmony. Whether you’re new to singing or an experienced vocalist, I’m here to help you find your voice and discover the magic of singing in a group.

About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on building strong music literacy and sight-singing skills through clear, steady practice. For both The Orchestra Member and The Crossover Artist, reading musical notation is key. We start with notation reading and interval training to develop a sharp understanding of pitch relationships. Rhythm exercises help improve timing and feel, while harmony-building activities sharpen your ability to blend and create rich sounds.

Each persona improves by connecting their ear, mind, and voice through consistent practice. The Orchestra Member strengthens precision and control, essential for ensemble playing. The Crossover Artist gains flexibility and creativity, blending styles smoothly. I use helpful tools like sight-singing apps, rhythm trainers, and notation software to make practice fun and effective.

These tools allow you to practice outside lessons, reinforcing skills at your own pace. I encourage patience and positivity—growth comes step by step. Together, we build confidence in your musical reading and vocal skills, preparing you for any stage or style.
