About Sydney
Hello! My name is Sydney. I am a graduate of The Ohio State University where I earned a bachelors degree in speech and hearing science. My coursework concentrated on English skills, language development, and speech. I am currently a graduate student working on my masters degree in communicative disorders to become a speech and language therapist.
My previous work experience involved serving as a therapy assistant for children with autism. I planned and facilitated activities to promote their language development, behavioral growth, and academic improvement. Additionally, I worked as a nanny for several children - while doing this, I ensured their safety and implemented engaging activities.
I am working to become a speech-language pathologist so that I can diagnose and treat speech and language-related disorders for children and adults. This is something I am incredibly passionate about, and my coursework is highly relevant to teaching English. I plan to use what I've learned during my schooling and integrate it into English teaching.

- My teaching method is highly interactive. My lessons involve a variety of tactics such as discussion, problem-based learning, enjoyable activities, and more.
- A typical lesson plan will include a review of the previous session/any concerns, an introduction to new vocabulary words, grammar exercises, time to practice,and then a review of the current session before finishing it.
- The qualities that set me apart as a tutor include my passion, enthusiasm, and experience in 1-on-1 communication intervention. I truly enjoy helping others learn about language!
- My lessons are geared towards older children (ages 10 & up) as well as adults.
