About Yvonne
With 5 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, I specialise in teaching jazz and blues vocal improvisation. I focus on scat singing, melodic embellishments, and harmony to help students create their own voice. Lessons include ear training, scale and chord theory, and practical application for improvisation. I work with singers of all levels, combining technical development with expressive growth. Students gain confidence in performing, improvising, and exploring melodic ideas. I emphasise phrasing, stylistic authenticity, and musical understanding. Improvisation is taught systematically and creatively, making it accessible and fun. Each session is tailored to individual goals and abilities. Lessons develop technique, musicality, and stage readiness. I encourage exploration while maintaining solid vocal foundations. Students leave with stronger skill, deeper understanding, and more confidence. My aim is to cultivate expressive, versatile, and confident performers ready for any musical challenge.

I provide tailored exercises for The Suzuki Student and The Orchestra Member to improve stability and control. Lessons also include tone development, phrasing, and musical expression. Step-by-step guidance ensures safe vocal progress. Students gain control, endurance, and confidence in their voice. Exercises are practical, engaging, and personalised. I encourage consistent practice to reinforce technique and stamina. Each session balances technical skill with expressive performance. Learners leave more confident, capable, and expressive. My aim is to help every singer perform longer, stronger, and with freedom.
