About Cheryl
I have been a public educator for 18 years. Eleven of those years are direct classroom teaching experience. The other seven are administrative experience. I served as an assistant principal which helped me to get a glimpse of a wide variety of teaching styles. I was so inspired by what I was seeing in the classroom, I decided to get back in the trenches. It's been five years, and I've never looked back. I get great satisfaction in helping others. Now that I'm an empty-nester, I have lots of time available, so why not spend it doing what I love? I still teach full time, but I definitely have time to spare for others.

My lessons are tailored to each student's needs. Not everyone learns the same, so why would every lesson be the same? I like to incorporate media into the lessons. Pictures, videos, games, etc. help enrich lessons and make them more tangible for the learner. Students are encouraged to share best how they learn so that I can meet them where they need to be met. My students are middle schooler aged and older. I work well with students who can carry a conversation in a meaningful way.
