About Durgaprasad

I am an international PhD student who completed his undergraduate degree in India and Master's degree in the UK. I have 5 years experience working in the research and development (R&D) sector of a popular Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) firm. Growing up as a student in India, I faced challenges learning some technical concepts. Whilst teachers and lecturers put in their best efforts to teach large groups of students, I believe that I would have benefited from personalized tutoring sessions that helped me build confidence in those topics. With my breadth of experience in R&D in industry and academic settings, I believe that it's crucial for students to have strong conceptual foundations that would serve them well in the future. My life experience and perspectives on the challenges of students across different cultures and a wide age-range have placed me in a unique position to serve and guide students getting ready to become productive members of society.

About the lesson

My technical background, work experience and experience of living and studying abroad has given me the valuable perspective to understand the learning challenges of people from different cultural backgrounds. I understand students' background and exposure to the topic before preparing specialized lessons for them. I prepare the lessons to help students build a strong conceptual foundation for the topic, and engage actively with students to build comfort and confidence about the topic. My typical lesson plan includes (a) a quiz initially to gauge the student's familiarity with the topic, (b) explanation of the class topic, (c) examples to show the application of the topic in relevant contexts, and (d) exercises to help the students practice and build confidence on the topic. I have 1000+ hours of experience tutoring Math, Physics, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering subjects. My fluency in English has helped me teach individuals across different cultures and a wide age-range.

Perfect! Durga as really engaged with Luke on another level, I’ve never seen my son be so engaging in maths and science like he has with Durga. He looks so forward to his next lessons. In this short time his cass marks in class have taken him from 70%, to high in the 80% and some even in the 90% tile. Even his mood is now more excited and Durga has been there for him every step of the way. His career path is what Durga is qualified in, and he totally gets Luke’s attention, on the same level. I really want to thank Durga from the bottom of my heart, for the work he has already shown Luke. May this relationship last a long time. Thank you for caring, concern, and parting with your insane knowledge. Durga you are a perfect tutor for Luke. We are so glad we found you, we really thought that we would never you. Luke, Karen's son, is an enthusiastic student who enjoys learning Maths and Science. Luke is fully engaged during the class, working on problems with focus, and asking questions when he has doubts. Luke tries to solve questions independently and sometimes comes up with innovative ways to solve them. He is organized in his approach to learning, and uses consistent approaches to problem-solving. He has improved his understanding of Maths and Science as subjects and that shows in his efforts to do better in these subjects. Luke needs to work carefully through Maths problems, using a step-by-step approach. He works through problems quickly in his mind, and sometimes he misses writing some of the steps on paper. That may affect the final answer that he arrives at. It has been an absolute pleasure tutoring Luke! His enthusiasm and commitment show that he has excellent career prospects in fields related to Maths and Science. All the best, Luke in your journey ahead!
