About Eddie

My academic and employment history spans from 2007 to present and includes: Bachelor of Laws - Cert IV Government Investigation - Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice - I was admitted to practice in Victoria in 2018 - I have over 10 years experience in state central agencies, independent statutory authorities and line agencies such as Department of Justice, Department of Premier and Cabinet, Legal Services Commission, Sunshine Youth Legal Centre, Victoria Legal Aid and legal advocacy in roles as defense and prosecution of criminal matters in Summary and Indictable matters. In the course of my employment I have undertaken such roles as providing legal advice, investigative roles, court appearances, auditing, industry government regulation, working with state and federal and international agencies. I am currently teaching at LaTrobe University - Bachelor of Laws and Melbourne Uni LL.B JD and I hold a current working with children check.

About the lesson

My aim is to use my intimate knowledge of, and experience in, legal profession and academia to assist students understand their subjects, what the subject assessor's require students to demonstrate in their assessments, the hurdles that exist within their own learnings and how to attack assessments to maximize results. Specifically, classes will be tailored for each student's needs and objectives, focusing on building deductive reasoning study models, identifying critical assessments, formulating study plans and strategies to use in exams/assessments. I also have extensive experience as a mentor and careers guide to university students studying business and law in both academic and professional life which is something I am very passionate about and am happy to provide as part of my service. First lesson is free however it is limited to discussions about how I can provide assistance and what the assistance would look like, but does not include substantive academic or legal assistance. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: I offer two forms of assistance. 1. The first service I provide is Written Advice; where I receive requests for advice (sometimes with attachments such as assignments or other assessments) with instructions from you the sender as to what you would like advice on. This advice you seek could be relating to anything from simply reviewing the accuracy grammar of your work or suggestions on restructuring of assignment body or advice on what additional material or information to introduce or input into the work. It could also be a request for advice on locating academic sources to draw information from, reviewing referencing, and the like. I can also provide written advice on; how to prepare or approach particular subjects/units (i.e. what legislation, cases and materials you should turn your mind to), tips/hints/tricks/strategies to prepare for online assessments such as exams and quizzes, how to prepare for in-class or examination written assessments, how to prepare for assessments depending on the structure of the assessments and so forth. 2. The second service I provide is Real Time Assistance. This can be in the form of zoom or phone consultation in live real time. This is suggested for students who feel that there is a concern in their studies that needs to be talked through or where you feel that communication via email will not assist you in your academic inquiry or understanding of the advice, as opposed to written advice. ******FEES****** Please note, Real Time Assistance will attract a higher fee of $80 per hour during weekdays (incurred at 20 minutes) due to the scheduling it will require for me to prepare these sorts of lessons. Real time assistance provided on weekends will attract a fee of $100 per hour. Written advice will be charged at $60 per hour on weekdays, charged at 20 minutes. Written Advice provided on weekends will attract a fee of $80 per hour.
