About Leila
I am a student at the University of Sydney, completing a major in English. I completed my High School Certificate in 2019, studying English Advanced, English Extension 1 and English Extension 2. I received exemplar marks for these subjects, including an E4 (band 6) in English Extension 2. Through my high school and university English studies, I have developed extensive skills and knowledge in literary analysis, close reading, essay writing, creative writing, discursive writing and more.

I have a great passion for literature and a strong belief that knowledge and understanding of it are important for both individual pleasure and the opportunities it provides you with. I believe that learning English should be fun and engaging and that it is an extremely rewarding process. Studying English is very dependent on what you intend to gain from it. Regardless, all literary skills should be grounded in a strong understanding of and passion for literary material, comprehension of core analytical skills and an ability to adequately express your thoughts and opinions both through writing and discussion. I believe this should be achieved in creative, fun and engaging ways that emphasise the inherent creativity and joy of all literary engagement.
