About Kieran
I worked as a freelance writer and editor across many industries for five years before heading to Texas State University to obtain my MFA, studying under renowned and generous novelists and short story writers. After graduating with a MFA in Creative Writing (Fiction) in 2019, I worked as a professor of first-year composition courses at Texas State, CUNY, St. Joseph's (PA), Temple, Community College of Philadelphia, and Thomas Jefferson University. Through this experience, I was able to cultivate a skill and a passion for working one-on-one with the students who actually wanted to improve their writing in office hours and workshops. Now, I have shifted back into a freelance mode, and would like to offer these same teachings to you!

As a former professor in rhetoric and composition with a MFA in creative writing, I teach with both goals of satisfactory completion of the assignment and creative self-expression in mind, and can calibrate between the two as we get to know each other. After our work together, you will have written a piece that checks all the boxes AND conveys as much of your personality as you'd hoped.
Sessions include writing exercises, collaborative ideating, drafting time, and workshopping for global and local enhancements. Whether you're starting from scratch or you think you're 90% there, an hour with me will take your writing from the current place of feeling stuck to soaring towards your goals.
