About Kimiko
I graduated from the University of Hawaii, Manoa with Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Mathematics and Psychology. I have 4 years of experience as a math tutor, and have been successful in building up my students in their confidence and knowledge in math.

I use visuals and words to explain concepts to students. I will figure out where students are at in regards to understanding content and how they learn best. I'll encourage students whenever they do something right so they can be motivated to keep doing their best; I believe in positive reinforcement. I teach with patience, understanding, and persistence. If my initial style of teaching doesn't work for a student, I am more than willing to adapt.

Depending on the student's needs, I also charge for the amount of time I spent preparing for lessons. This could look like preparing slide presentations, creating personalized assignments, and grading homework. If you have multiple children that would like to receiving tutoring, I am willing to lower my rate, if needed. Mahalo!
