About Niall

I’m a pianist, composer, and performer with over 14 years of teaching experience. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Piano Studies, which deepened both my technical and artistic understanding of the instrument. Music has always been more than just a skill for me—it’s a lifelong journey, full of discovery, growth, and expression. I’ve had the joy of working with students at every level, from complete beginners to advanced performers preparing for conservatory auditions. My teaching is rooted in patience, structure, and creativity. I believe in building a strong technical foundation while encouraging each student’s personal voice and musical identity. As a performer and composer, I bring real-world experience into every lesson. I help students explore not just how to play, but why music matters. Whether we’re working on a classical piece or a contemporary composition, I aim to make the learning process engaging and meaningful. I see every student as unique, and I adapt my approach to fit their goals and pace. Above all, I strive to create a space where students feel inspired, supported, and challenged. Music has shaped my life deeply, and I love helping others discover its power.

About the lesson

My piano teaching approach is designed to support students aiming for high-level performance, competitions, and recordings. I focus on both musical excellence and personal confidence. Technique and expression go hand in hand in my lessons. I place strong emphasis on posture, hand positioning, and body awareness to promote ease and prevent injury. Students learn how to shape phrases with clarity and emotion, so their playing becomes both technically sound and artistically compelling.

For those preparing for the stage, we work on presence—how to walk on, focus under pressure, and engage with an audience. I help students create strong practice routines that build consistency and reduce nerves. Recording is also a valuable part of training. I guide students through using DAWs and audio analysis tools to refine their playing and hear their progress in real time. This makes them more independent and aware musicians.

Whether a student is aiming for a grade exam, leading music in a church, or creating a professional-level demo, I provide the tools and mindset for success. I meet each learner where they are, while pushing them to reach their potential with support and encouragement.
