I bring a supportive and professional approach shaped by strong experience in academic, professional, and résumé writing. With a BA in English and several years in the communications field, I’ve developed a clear understanding of how to craft writing that is organized, effective, and purposeful. I’ve helped students and peers strengthen essays, polish résumés, and improve their overall writing skills with clarity and confidence. My approach as a tutor focuses on helping students sharpen their skills so they can become confident, independent writers. While I don’t have formal classroom teaching experience, I have a BA in English and five years of professional writing and communications experience, and I’ve helped students strengthen their essays, resumes, and overall writing abilities. That support has shaped the way I teach: patient, clear, and centered on building long-term writing confidence.
A typical lesson begins with a quick check-in on goals, followed by a focused skill lesson tailored to the student’s needs—whether that’s organizing ideas, improving clarity, strengthening arguments, or polishing grammar and tone. From there, we work together on a writing exercise or revise a current assignment. Each session ends with personalized guidance so students know exactly what to practice on their own.
What sets me apart is my ability to translate real-world writing skills into practical lessons. Because of my communications background, I can help students not only write stronger essays but also present themselves professionally through polished résumés and clear, effective writing.
My lessons are specifically for high school students (grades 9–12), undergraduate students, and recent graduates. I specialize in academic writing, essay and research paper guidance, and résumé support for students pursuing roles in the private sector. My goal is always to help students grow into writers who feel capable, prepared, and proud of their work.
