Find a tutor to take a French class in Kota Kinabalu

The CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference) sorts French proficiency into six levels, from A1 for absolute beginners to C2 for near-native mastery.

• A1 (Beginner): you can introduce yourself, order food and handle very simple exchanges.
• A2 (Elementary): you cope with predictable situations such as restaurants, transport or directions.
• B1 (Intermediate): you manage most travel situations, give opinions and tell short stories without too much hesitation.
• B2 (Upper-Intermediate): you interact with native speakers without strain on most topics, including abstract ideas.
• C1 (Advanced): you express yourself spontaneously, professionally and in nuanced detail across complex topics.
• C2 (Mastery): you communicate with the precision of a near-native speaker, including subtle humour and idioms.

A private French tutor on Superprof can pinpoint your exact CEFR level in the first session and build a roadmap to the next one.

Three months is enough to reach a solid A2 conversational level in French, provided you study consistently and practise speaking from day one.

Several factors decide how far you actually get:

• Weekly study time: the more frequent your exposure, the faster vocabulary and grammar stick.

• Speaking practice: one-to-one sessions force active recall and correct pronunciation early on.
• Your starting point and motivation: if you already speak another Romance language, A2 in 3 months is highly achievable.
