About Desire

.Hi, I'm Desirè. I'm an Italian scenic artist with over 15 years of experience creating painted scenery for theatres, opera productions and large-scale artistic projects. Today I also work in Australia’s most renowned theatres while continuing my studies in yoga, mindfulness and human wellbeing. Throughout my career I realised that many people don't stop creating because they lack talent—they stop because they become afraid of making mistakes. That's why I created The Art Alchemist. Want to learn acrylics, illustration, scenic painting or digital art, my goal isn't only to teach you how to paint. It's to help you rediscover the creative part of yourself that has always been there. I believe creativity isn't a gift for a few people. It's something we can all reconnect with when we learn to slow down, observe and enjoy the process.

About the lesson

Whether you're a complete beginner, a professional artist facing creative blocks, or simply someone looking to reconnect with your creativity, I'll guide you on a personalised artistic journey. After more than 15 years working as a professional scenic artist, I realised that most people don't stop creating because they lack talent—they stop because they're afraid of making mistakes or being judged. This inspired me to create The Art Alchemist Method, my own teaching approach that blends professional artistic training with mindfulness, helping students build strong technical foundations while reconnecting with their authentic creative voice. Together, we'll explore drawing, painting and creative techniques in a supportive, judgment-free environment. We may begin each lesson with a short mindfulness practice to quiet the mind, cultivate presence and enter a creative flow before putting brush to canvas. Art asks us to be vulnerable. It invites us to let go of perfectionism, embrace imperfection and discover that our most authentic expression often lies beyond our fears. My role is to guide you through that process with patience, encouragement and practical artistic skills. You don't need to be perfect to make art—you simply need to be yourself. If it resonates with you, I'm also happy to incorporate intuitive practices such as oracle or tarot cards as creative prompts for reflection and inspiration. If that's not your style, we'll simply let the brushes do the talking.
