About Mesut
Hi, I'm Mesut. I recently graduated high school as valedictorian and scored a 1570 on the SAT. My own SAT journey is one of the reasons I'm passionate about tutoring. I started with a 1300 on my first practice test, worked my way into the high 1400s, and then hit a plateau. Through targeted practice, test-taking strategy, and a deeper understanding of the exam, I was able to break through and achieve a 1570.
Because I've experienced the ups and downs of SAT prep firsthand, I understand the challenges students face at different score levels. I've previously tutored both math and English and enjoy helping students build confidence while improving their skills. Being close in age to many of my students helps me connect with them and explain concepts in a clear and relatable way.
I believe every student struggles with different things, so I tailor my tutoring to each student's strengths, weaknesses, and goals rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. My goal is not only to help students raise their scores, but also to develop the strategies and confidence needed to succeed on test day.

I focus on a structured, score-driven SAT approach based on my own improvement from a 1300 to a 1570. I specialize in helping students break through score plateaus, especially in the mid-1400 range, where progress often stalls. For Reading and Writing, I use a timing-focused method that helped me reach a 780–790 split by improving question recognition, pacing, and elimination speed. For Math, I teach core concepts first, then apply targeted test strategies and efficient Desmos use for the digital SAT.
A typical lesson includes reviewing missed questions, focusing on one key weak area with clear strategy, then doing timed practice to reinforce skills under real test conditions.
What sets me apart is that I have gone through the exact score improvement process I now teach, so I understand both the content and the strategy needed to move from good scores to top scores. My lessons are for high school students at all levels, including new SAT learners and those aiming to break into higher score ranges.
