About Amaya

In my 2nd year at RNCM studying the cello under Professor Jacob Shaw. I believe in helping kids develop their passion for music through giving them the right tools and technique early on in their musical journey. Prior to conservatoire I took a gap year, played as principal of the LSSO and studied with a Guild Hall professor

About the lesson

I believe in a close relationship between student and teacher, to better understand how the students best learn. I focus on building in technical accuracy so that students understand how their instrument works and can further their advancement. Lessons are 45-60 minutes depending on the students level and specific needs.
I’ve taught beginner cellists up to grade 6 and up to grade 8 on the piano. Lessons will always begin with scales before their chosen repertoire, and if approaching an exam we will go through the required sight reading and aural tests.
