About Rachel
Hi! I am Rachel and I am a second-year vocal scholar at the University of Kent. I am dedicated to expanding my teaching career at Canterbury apart from Hong Kong, where I had 3 years of teaching experience under the supervision of my vocal teacher! My role back then was his TA for the music theory foundation and would take up some classes when students required extra lessons for competitions!
I am a highly passionate singer and violist and hope to bring forward my experiences to positively impact and grow our next generations' interest in music as they grow up. I am hoping to make the lesson more interactive and interesting to make sure students enjoy the nature of music instead of just for the aim of grades.
I hold an ATCL certificate in violin and distinction in grade 7 vocal. The main reason for only obtaining a grade 7 in vocal is due to my short period of actual vocal education, within 2 years since Year 7, I had to achieve a diploma degree and a grade 7 in vocal. Then I temporarily stopped all grade examinations to focus on my education. Yet, various awards when I competed at a secondary school back in the Hong Kong Music Festival have also demonstrated my ability in music, despite not achieving a minimum of grade 8 for vocal.

Lessons are aimed to be interactive and interesting. Length per lesson would be between 1-2 hours. (for singing classes no longer than 1 hour). I am targeting students who wish to enroll in ABRSM exams, all my vocal and violin exams have been above 130 marks (distinction). Zoom lesson preferred, for people in Canterbury, can negotiate location for lesson
