I am a friendly and supportive individual who quite simply wants everyone to have the best chance of achieving their goals! I want students to feel comfortable in making mistakes or asking questions during sessions so that they can gain as much as possible from the experience and will foster such an environment through my style of teaching.

Hi! I’m Megan and I am in my third year of studying medicine at Oxford University. Having previously held a paid role at a tutoring centre based in Cambridge for 3 years, I have already tutored students of a range of abilities both 1:1 and in groups and through this have developed confidence in how to approach the different struggles students face. Having tutored those for whom English wasn't their first language, I am patient in my teaching style and will work through content at whatever rate best fits the student. Whilst studying for my A-levels, I also organised and led a mentoring scheme for younger pupils within the chemistry department which has given me experience in creating teaching resources for mentors to use and given me an understanding of what is most beneficial for students who are being mentored or tutored from feedback from those taking part in the scheme. I personally have a strong academic record, achieving 4 A*s at A-level and a high score of 3220 in my UCAT, so have a comprehensive understanding of how students can best grasp content and hone their exam technique to achieve the highest grades possible. I also have a unique insight into the Oxbridge admissions process, such as how to best approach interviews for these universities. I am available to tutor online in A-level Biology and Chemistry as well as in Mathematics and Science up until GCSE/or equivalent standard, offering lessons from 45 minutes to 2 hours in length. Having submitted an application for Medicine and going on to achieve a top grade in my UCAT, I am also eager to provide advice on maximising your score in this admissions test as I found it difficult to develop many of the skills needed for this at first and feel I can give tailored advice as a result of my own experience on how to approach this more unconventional exam. I am also prepared to help with interview preparation and give mock interviews both for Oxbridge and/or medicine applications. During my lessons, I will go through knowledge to cover all points of the specification but will also be asking questions and providing opportunities during the lesson for active recall. I will also provide and signpost students to optimal resources available to aid with this.
