About Aidan

I am a 4th year university student studying Neuroscience looking to share the knowledge and skills that I have developed during my time at the University of Edinburgh. I have in depth knowledge in a wide range of Biology topics as well as in related areas such as Maths and Chemistry.

I have experience tutoring GCSE and A level students in Biology and Chemistry. This includes both teaching elements of the courses and also guiding students through exam style questions.

While in Sixth Form I helped younger students with their homework in a variety of subjects. Plus, throughout School and University I helped fellow students with their work in study groups. These experiences have been key in developing my communication skills and refining the way I can teach effectively

About the lesson

I offer lessons for any ages up to undergraduate level. My lessons focus on developing skills that are essential to learning as well teaching content.

First I will begin by exploring my students strengths and weaknesses within a particular topic to identify which areas that need to be worked upon. Then I will focus on these target areas and go over them slowly and carefully to make sure that all aspects are understood. I believe using practice questions are a great way to put what has been taught into action and also prepare students for future assessments. In each subsequent session consolidating this knowledge by briefly going over previously learnt content is very useful way of making sure that everything is clearly understood!
