About Akash

My name is Akash Dubb and I am a 2nd year medical student at Oxford, having just received a prize for the highest score in 1st year medicine. I have vast teaching experience that has relied on my own academic achievements. These include 11 9’s at GCSEs, 44 points at IB and all university medicine offers at Oxford, Imperial, Kings and Bristol. My UCAT score was 3190 and my BMAT score 8.6, 6.9, 3A.

About the lesson

After tutoring for over 100 hours, I have learnt that the best approach is very interactive and student led. This involves an open dialogue between myself and the student (involving the parents/guardian too if appropriate). From this, we understand the student’s strengths and weaknesses with focus on firstly finding a way for the student to understand the material via different methods, and then applying these to exams/applications. My typical lesson length is 1 hour but this can be modified based on the student’s needs.
