About Aran

5th year medical student at University of Manchester. GCSEs 9A*, 3As A level: 4A* chemistry, maths, biology and Welsh baccalaureate Previous teaching: Have been a tutor on superprof for almost 1 year. All the students I have tutored received an offer to medical school. Practised MMIs with previous students applying for medicine. At medical school I have organised mock OSCE stations for almost 100 1st 2nd and 3rd year students. OSCE stations require the same skills as those in MMIs. Taught lecture style sessions. Taught lower year medical students how to tackle complex medical problems. Societies at university: Manchester medics hockey president Educational director of the medics research society. Year 3 events co director for code blue OSCE crew. Hobbies: Going to the gym Playing hockey

About the lesson

MMI interviews should be tackled in 2 ways. Firstly learning the knowledge required to impress the interviewers. In the first few sessions we will discuss the relevant topics to MMI stations such as: Ethics and Law Why medicine? Role play stations Personal statement Medical knowledge station Secondly and most importantly practice, practice, practice. We will go through structured answers that make sure you get all the relevant information to hit top marks in your MMI stations. You will also receive useful feedback.

Perfect! Aran is a fantastic tutor, helped my son preparing for his first year medical school exams. He has been very prompt, and very quick to arrange sessions with a very short notice and my son is very happy with the sessions. I highly recommend him.

Highlighted my areas of weakness and allowed for more time in these areas. Also provided a mock interview with questions specific to my application, all for a very reasonable price. Perfect! Aran is an amazing tutor, he has taught me many valuable skills needed in order to prepare me for my interview. Aran has a nice way of approaching questions and good structure which ticks all the boxes when answering a question. Always and enjoyable session with Hamza. He is very responsive to feedback, enjoys researching medical conditions and aspects of medicine in a wider context. We have been working on structuring answers which is going really well. He is growing in confidence with every session. He will do really well in his exams and make a great medical student. One aspect of improvement could be confidence with answers and when doing acting scenarios. By Friday he will be ready to smash his exams.
