About Melody
Hi! My name is Melody, and I am an 8th grade student with a strong academic background and a passion for helping others learn. Math is one of my strongest subjects, and I enjoy breaking down complex ideas into clear, understandable steps so students can truly grasp the concepts rather than memorize them.
In addition to academics, I am a professional debater with over six years of experience, having won multiple medals through competitions. Debate has strengthened my ability to explain ideas clearly, think logically, and adapt my explanations to different learning styles—skills that directly benefit my tutoring. I also play badminton competitively, which has taught me discipline, consistency, and perseverance.
As a tutor, I am patient, organized, and committed to creating a supportive learning environment. I understand the challenges students face because I am a student myself, and I aim to make math feel approachable and achievable. My goal is to help younger students build confidence, strong foundations, and a positive attitude toward learning.

Teaching Method & Techniques
I explain concepts step by step using simple language and examples students can relate to. I encourage questions and make sure students understand why something works, not just how to get the answer. I use practice problems, visuals when helpful, and real-life examples to make lessons engaging.
Typical Lesson Plan
A typical lesson starts with a quick review of what the student already knows. Then we focus on one main topic, go through examples together, and practice with guided questions. I end the lesson by checking understanding and reviewing any mistakes so the student feels confident moving forward.
What Sets Me Apart
As a student myself, I understand what it feels like when math is confusing. I explain topics in a way that makes sense to younger students and create a comfortable learning environment where mistakes are okay and part of learning.
