About CLAIRE
Claire has almost thirty years’ experience teaching music, specialising in piano, general musicianship, theory and creating educational materials for children with the publication of the series of Chelsea Quavers Music Puzzles, used in schools and for 1:1 tuition. She has run Adult Music Courses at Marlborough College Summer School. Claire was born in London and from the earliest years, music was central to her life. She was awarded both Junior and Senior Music Scholarships at Downe House School, and was Head of Choral. There she studied piano, singing and flute with Hilary Finzi (Jacqueline du Pré’s sister). Claire continued her studies privately under Neil Immelman (piano) and Prof Ian Curror of the RCM (harmony). She was part of the semi-chorus of the London Philharmonic Choir and performed under greats such as the late Sir George Solti.
