About Sloane
I am an accomplished guitar coach with 6 years of experience instructing students across a range of ages and abilities. I have successfully coached around 220 students, helping them establish strong fretwork and lasting musical confidence. My teaching philosophy centers on structure, positivity, and responsiveness, so every student receives support aligned with their pace and goals. I prioritize fretting accuracy, timing, and tone development through consistent, focused practice. My objective is to help every student become a self-assured guitarist with a lasting bond to music.

My teaching philosophy for Guitar, Fretwork, and Music Theory has developed over six years of helping students play with clarity and confidence. I focus on helping each learner build their own musical identity, meaning their own touch, rather than mirroring a set technique.
Structure supports my sessions. I favor steady, repeatable exercises so students strengthen muscle memory in fretting and picking incrementally rather than pushing too fast.
Positivity carries through every session. Mastering guitar takes time, so I consistently highlight small breakthroughs and keep students engaged even when particular skills need extra practice.
Responsiveness informs how I run each lesson, since some students grasp concepts faster through demonstration while others need more repetition or theoretical grounding, so I tailor my delivery accordingly.
Lessons generally start with hand and finger stretches paired with tuning, move into fretting and picking exercises, and gradually layer in music theory essentials like scales and rhythm, alongside ear development.
For advanced players, I introduce lead playing, improvisational techniques, and genre focused coaching such as rock, blues, or fingerstyle, plus foundational recording work.
I customize my teaching around each student's aspirations, whether they're playing casually or pursuing a performance path. My objective is a steady, uplifting environment where every guitarist can thrive.
