About Anahit

I studied with famous musicians and teachers in the former Soviet Union. I started my studies at Professional Music School at the age of seven. I graduated with honors and earned my Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from State Music College, Russia, and Master of Music Degrees in Piano Performance, Collaborated Art, and Master of Education in Piano Pedagogy from Yerevan State Conservatory. Upon graduation, I qualified as a soloist, concertmaster, and piano instructor.

About the lesson

I offer a coordinated approach to piano instruction for beginning and intermediate students as well as systematic professional training for advanced students and adults. My teaching practice is based on a synthesis of Russian and American methods of piano schools. I am patient, confident and deeply committed to high standards and excellent quality of musical education.

My primary teaching goal is to help students succeed in understanding music while recognizing students' individual potentials and goals. In addition, I develop in them the skills to perform to the best of their ability, with knowledge and professionalism. I teach students in a way that develops mental toughness, and the motivation to perform in public with confidence, warmth, and freedom. I instill a love of music in my students that lasts a lifetime.

I am on the Board of Directors for the MTAC, (Music Teachers’ Association of California), San Fernando Valley Branch and member of MTNA and SYMF. I provide access to scholarships and opportunities for annual performances in competitions and festivals. My students receive a comprehensive music education and participate in Certificate of Merit Program. They have also been selected to play at the annual MTAC convention and have been major prize winners in different competitions at the local, state, and national level.
