About Thomas
Currently, I am a student at one of the top public business schools in the country. In high school, I took all the way through AP BC Calculus and scored a 5 on the AP exam. I also tested through college math before my freshman year and scored in the 99th percentile of SAT math scores.
I am extremely organized, detail-oriented, and communicative. As your tutor, I want to create a plan that works best for you and will help you achieve your academic goals.

The way that I approach teaching math is I want to help the student do more than just regurgitate how their teacher showed them how to solve a problem in class. To do this, I first start by teaching them the problem-solving fundamentals behind the course that they are taking and then help them learn the "why" behind the strategies that they will need to use to complete a problem.
With this strong grasp of the fundamentals and deep understanding of the strategies, the student can then go into any assignment or test and successfully tackle any problem that may come their way even if it's a problem that they haven't quite seen before.
With me, a typical lesson plan will begin with an overview of the topics/objectives the lesson covers, then I will explain key fundamentals and concepts and show how to apply these with practice problems. I will then leave time and provide problems for the student to try on their own as well as ask any questions they may have.
Overall, I am great at communicating with those younger than me. I have been tutoring fellow classmates for a few years now and have developed a few different approaches for conveying knowledge to others. I am also not too far removed from high school math and use many algebra-related topics in my two college majors today, so most of the concepts are very fresh in my mind.
