About Anna
I have dedicated the last 3 years to producing, directing, editing and acting in my very personal, very suffered, arthouse feature film (which is going to be released next year). Prior to this I was acting for 8 years, training for 4. My training started in Milan at the age of 19, where I studied Method acting intensively for 2 years (Teatro primo Studio) with nationally acclaimed teachers. After this I moved to London (aged 22), where I attended Richmond drama school for a year, as well as several method acting seminars, various Meisner classes and film acting specific courses (as I always knew film acting was what I did best and what I was seeing myself doing in the future). As most respectable, experienced actors will tell you, acting is not something that can be taught, only learned. And I could not agree more with this statement. Acting is a personal, intimate experience to be externalised with the outside world. It is great to study a wide variety of methods, only to then pretty much discard all of them altogether as being absolute and understand that you need to come up with your own. What every method focussed on is to give you the tools. Not the answer. My approach to acting is the result of years of training in different acting methods and techniques, reading a lot of books and taking part to more than 30 film and theatre productions with leading or supporting roles. It is the result of having learned to use the tools that work for me and having discarded the rest. There are great books out there that, when accompanied by some solid acting background and a proactive approach in auditioning and constantly putting yourself to the test, will change the way you experience acting for good.
