About Cleo

Coming from a classical background, I have trained for 10 years at the Conservatoire in Paris in violin and classical singing. Alongside that, I was part of a professional musical theatre choir called "Sotto Voce" where I found a passion for the performing side of singing. I then moved to the UK and obtained a UAL Extended Diploma in Musical Theatre, and most recently got a Bachelor of Arts in Acting and Physical Theatre. I now tend to work as an actor-musician, using my musical skills in theatre shows like musicals, and children's theatre. I have always loved working with children and sharing with them my passion for singing and performing. I believe singing is a wonderful tool to express yourself, and I try to give my students the confidence to explore their voice and have fun with it in a relaxed and encouraging environment.

About the lesson

Being an actor-musician, my approach to teaching is fun and engaging. I like to focus on musicality and give my students the technical tools they need to have fun with their voices and explore the music they like! I specialise in teaching violin and singing, and I can teach in English or French. I am open to all levels, ages, and styles of music! Whether you want to learn a new skill in a relaxed way or prepare for an exam, I will support you with extreme patience and encouragement. If you are nervous about beginning or re-starting after a while, I am the teacher you need! MY TEACHING APPROACH With a strong background in Classical music from training at the Conservatoire in Paris, I am able to offer some strong technique advice, as well as an understanding of music theory. But this training also made me think there are other ways to learn music, and I always make sure to provide an encouraging environment where students can develop their skills, express themselves, and find joy in playing music. You are a beginner nervous about making the first step? This is the lesson for you! I believe there is no age to start learning an instrument and it should always be an exciting challenge. I offer lessons tailored to your individual goals and learning style, whether you are very intuitive by ear, or work better on paper with sheet music. You are preparing for an exam and looking for additional practice? Perfect! I will help you approach this confidently and work with you to develop technique as well as your presence on stage and help you feel relaxed on the day. TRAINING - BA Acting and Physical Theatre from East15 Acting School - UAL Extended Diploma in Musical Theatre level 3 - Musical Theatre choir “Soto Voce” in Paris - Conservatoire of Paris (XXth) in Violin, Singing, Music theory, Orchestra My lessons usually last an hour and can take place at my home, or yours for a small extra fee.
