About Rachel

I am a professional actor musician, with 10+ years' teaching experience. I have recently moved to Manchester from London, where I had a number of students working towards grades, or simply learning for the fun of it. Some of those students have been having lessons with me for the full 10 years, and have even chosen to stay on having online lessons. A number of my graded students have achieved distinctions, but the thing I'm most proud of is when they tell me how much they enjoy playing. It is very special to journey with someone from beginner, and see their love of the instrument grow.

About the lesson

I aim to create a learning environment which encourages joy in the work. Whether you are working towards a graded exam or not, I believe the more we enjoy playing, the more progress we make. I personally started to really thrive on my instruments as a student when I was excited to practise. Lessons are typically 1 hour, but I always aim to be flexible and will cater the lesson lengths to what the student needs. For example, younger students may require a shorter lesson. I have been teaching for 10 years, and provide lessons for all levels and ages. From beginners to the higher grades. I also have experience teaching students with additional needs.
