Actors in the profession, and those wanting to audition for drama school

Andy is the most inspirational acting teacher I've ever known, in the 4 years I have worked with him his passion and hands on approach has taught me so much. From how to let loose, come out of my shell and relax onstage, to reading and understanding Shakespeare. Even writing personal statements to audition for Drama Schools, every lesson with him I look forward too massively and come away from with a ton to work on and think about. I would highly recommend him as an acting coach to anyone wanting to audition for Drama Schools or even just bring a new spark to their performing. You won't find a more qualified or dedicated expert teacher.

Andy mentored me when I was 17, at school. More than a decade later, he helped me when I wanted to audition for BOVTS. He coached me from a standing start, put me in touch with other tutors, I got in at the first attempt. Been a steadfast support ever since. He is, simply, fabulous at training good actors.

Andy was a tremendous help during my audition process for drama schools. He helped me find speeches that played to my strengths, gave actionable notes that were always specific, and gave me every tool to give a good audition—something he quite literally wrote the book on! Thanks, Andy!

Andy makes you step up your game. He is fully prepared and ready for your sessions and he puts a fire in your belly and confidence in your heart. I use his mantras before every audition. He will challenge you and he will push you but it’s all done with great belief in and support for your talent and abilities.

I had Andy as a teacher at a summer school ten years ago. All I can say is I learnt more in a week’s lessons with him than I had in seven years of acting tuition. He completely reframed my mindset as an actor and I still often think of his advice! A few years later, I was going through a crisis - unsure if I had the courage to keep going with acting. All I can say is that Andy is a huge reason why I decided to stay in the game. There’s a lot of nonsense in much of acting methodology and Andy strips everything down to the most basic and core level. He teaches you to focus on instinct and truth - an invaluable lesson for any actor (let alone human!). Thank you!!

This man changed my life. The kindest and wisest teacher I have ever had. In my opinion, he could coach a monkey to get into one of the top drama schools. He makes lessons fun, exciting and you discover so much about yourself as an artist along the way. After working with him I received places at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.

Andy’s teaching is accessible, straightforward and inspiring. He’s a massive advocate of you just being you and that was huge for me as someone who wanted to act but didn’t really have any idea how.
