About Nidhi
I am a fully qualified actuary with a strong academic background in mathematics, holding both an MSc and a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics. I have several years of experience working in analytical roles and tutoring students from KS3 to A-Level. I am patient, organised and genuinely enjoy helping students understand challenging topics and grow in confidence. Having mentored colleagues and students with a wide range of abilities, I am used to breaking down complex ideas into clear, manageable steps. My goal is always to create a supportive environment where questions are welcome and progress is visible from week to week.

I focus on building confidence and understanding, not just getting to the right answer. My approach is calm, patient and structured, with plenty of practice and clear explanations tailored to each student.
Teaching style and techniques
I start by identifying gaps through a short chat and a few diagnostic questions.
I break concepts into simple, logical steps and use lots of worked examples.
I encourage students to “think aloud” so I can see where they get stuck and address misconceptions straight away.
We regularly revisit key topics to strengthen long-term understanding, not just short-term memorisation.
For exam years, I place strong emphasis on exam technique: interpreting questions, showing clear working and managing time.
Lesson structure and length
A typical lesson is 60 minutes.
Each session usually includes:
a quick recap of the previous lesson,
teaching or revising 1–2 core topics,
guided practice questions, and
a short review to check understanding and agree “home practice”.
I can offer longer sessions (90 minutes) for A-Level or intensive revision if needed.
Qualifications and experience
I am a fully qualified actuary (FIA) with an MSc in Mathematics and a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics.
I have several years’ experience tutoring secondary school students in the UK, both in-person and online.
In my professional role I regularly mentor colleagues and explain complex mathematical ideas in an accessible way, which feeds directly into my tutoring style.

Typically ages 11–18, including:
students who need to build confidence and fill gaps,
those aiming for higher grades, and students preparing for specific exams or assessments.
